We, the audience, face the darkened stage, while the actors wait in the wings. What happens in those moments before they enter from left or right? I'm capturing portraits of performers of all disciplines as they are standing in the wings, waiting to go on stage.
I co-produced a series of short interviews hosted by Alan Cumming about iconic moments in actors' lives entitled, “Remember That Time.” We shot them at Sardi’s, the legendary theatre restaurant in New York City, and they were first broadcast on CBS All Access.
I had the amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to photograph the French Foreign Legionnaires. I was given unprecedented access in Africa (Ivory Coast) and France (Carcasonnes) for a book (Min Bror) and tv series (The Legion) made in Norway.
I've collaborated with actor and writer Alan Cumming since 2003. We celebrated our work together at an exhibition in New York entitled 'Alan & Me'. I photographed Alan for the cover of his memoir, 'Not My Father's Son'. We also produced a show for CBS All Access entitled 'Remember That Time'.
Kenneth Cole partnered with the MTV Staying Alive Foundation and amfAR to reinterpret the iconic AIDS ribbon. The campaign, which aired on MTV channels worldwide, featured a montage of celebrities wearing the double ribbon reciting lines about how, where, and when they like to wear it.
Each year, New York Moves magazine honors women from all disciplines as 'Power Women'. I was delighted to shoot some of the first portraits for the awards. The portraits were presented to the honorees as part of their award.
